two years

this past tuesday we celebrated our two year anniversary.
its hard to believe we have been married for two years.

in two short years we have:
lived in 3 different apartments
lived in two states
become a seminary student/wife
have a nephew on the way
made big plans for our future
made some really awesome friends
started ironing... :)
and so many more things...
both little and small.

we cherish these two years we have been given with each other.

talk about endorphins

guys! i did it. i ran my first 5k this morning.
but more importantly than that.
i can officially call myself a color runner.

this is how it all started.
i registered in april.
i started training. bought some really awesome shoes and fell in love with running shorts.
then friends started getting married and it got hot. so i didn't train as much.

but nonetheless... i wasn't going to be held back from some awesome color party.

on friday afternoon i got my highly anticipated race pack.
it contained incredibly important things...
such as a race map (which made me say "what have i done?")
and a COLOR PACK!!! (which made me say "i have done something awesome!")

so this morning i put my number on
and laced up my shoes... really awesome shoes at that!
and prepared myself to officially be a color runner.
(and ironed my husbands pants for church like a good wife.)

here are the before pictures!
(so fresh and so clean.)

and the really cool "we are waiting in line and taking sooo many pictures photos".

now we run jog trot!
white meets orange.
and then it meets yellow!
and then it meet some other colors that weren't properly documented.

and then all the colors met each other in one big color extravaganza.

im not sure if crossing the finish line or being in a giant color cloud was the best part,
but both were so exhilarating.

until next color run, my friends.

i am so thankful for awesome adventurous friends that are willing
to run/dance through colored cornstarch with me and act like a fool.

a saturday post

this saturday post comes to you because
I DONT WANT TO CLEAN!

okay maybe thats a little dramatic... its really the laundry that scares me. i would take a picture and show you but then i would be in trouble with my cute husband.

instead of overwhelming you guys with all the amazing things we have been doing... oh trust me they are amazing... ill start slow.

here are a few things you have missed.
we went to churchill downs.
we went home.
we did other random things.

yep that about covers it. now for some pictures of these things.

so here is our churchill downs adventure.
i bet on a horse named mikes dixie dancer...
aka dorie's horse.
you remember that time we went out to her house,
if you dont you can refresh yourself here.
so obviously i felt obligated to bet on her family's horse,
i mean the horse and i are pretty tight.

then we went home.
its a tradition to take as many pictures as possible on the ride home.
and group text... but i do that everyday so im not sure if that counts.

these four pictures are what north carolina means to me.
fried seafood, beach, boats, and bbq.
 be still my heart.
mom and i took a trip to wilmington for the day on wednesday.
oh how i have missed the salt air and my momma. :)
here is my precious sister in law and nephew.
isn't she just adorable! :)
she also reminded me that he is going to be here in 3 months!
where did the time go?
we also celebrated josh's birthday while we were home.

and of course its tradition for smores at the farm.
except it was really hot this time so we did them in the oven.
but they were still awesome!

we really love going home and being with friends and family.
this time we were able to be home wednesday through sunday.
we were incredibly spoiled because of this and didn't have to rush to see everyone.
you realize just how much you appreciate the wonderful people in your life when you are away from them for so long.

there were so many other great things we did and wonderful people we saw...
there just isn't pictures to document.

now for the rest of the saturday...
our wonderful friends les and lacey are coming into town.
we havent been able to spend time with the hughes in months!
super excited for shopping and dinner with old friends.
